In Ohio we have access to many sportsbooks, almost all of which I’ve used before. Fanduel is one of my top 3 favorites. I use Fanduel regularly. Below are a few of the pros and cons I’ve found using Fanduel (from my experiences only)
Creating an account
FanDuel has an easy account registration with the process taking very little time. If you’ve made an account on other sportsbooks then it's a very similar process but if this is your first sportsbook it’s quite simple.
The FanDuel mobile app is available on both the IOS and Android store, the first step is to download that.
Once you open the app you’ll be able to click join where you’ll then have to enter an email and create a username and password. You will have to select the state you’re currently in and allow location services to be able to create an account and place bets as sports betting isn’t currently legal in all states.

You will have to enter some personal information so that they can verify your identity and age as you have to be 21+ to place bets. The information you have to enter includes your full name, phone number, date of birth, home address, and the last four digits of your social security number.
After you enter all that you’ll have created your account you're good to proceed to the next step: putting some money in your account.
Making a deposit
To make a deposit, navigate to the bottom right of the app where it says account. After clicking on account you’ll see an add funds option.
FanDuel has a lot of deposit options to make it easy to add funds to your account. You can use your debit card, Apple Pay, online banking, PayPal, or credit card, and if you’re near an in-person FanDuel sportsbook you can also use cash on location.
FanDuel does let you deposit any amount you would like as long as it is at least $5. Once you hit deposit your funds will be automatically available to make your first bet.

FanDuel promotions and bonuses
As most betting sites, FanDuel offers a bonus for new users. They are currently offering a bet of $5 to get $150 in bonus bets if your first bet wins.

This promotion is only for new players but they also offer profit boosts and no-sweat bets for various sports throughout the year.
The FanDuel app makes it easy to see what promotions and bonuses are currently being offered. To find the offerings all you have to do is look at the top of the home screen and in the slider bar there is a promo option, after clicking that you’ll be able to see each promotion.
Refer a friend promotion

FanDuel Sportsbook's refer-a-friend promotion allows both you and your friend to receive a $50 bonus bet when they sign up using your referral link, deposit at least $10 (excluding PayNearMe), and place a wager of $10 or more within 30 days. (This offer is limited to five referrals per user within a 30-day period.)
Placing bets
Once you get used to the FanDuel app placing your bets is fairly simple but the app can be overwhelming for a first timer. The first step would be to decide if you want to make a moneyline, over/under, or spread bet. There are also player props where for instance you can bet on who you think will score a touchdown in the football game.
When making a bet you can choose to do a straight bet which would just be one outcome or you could do a parlay with a combination of selections. On FanDuel they have a parlay hub that lets you see the popular parlays being placed all in one spot.
They also have a player props section that lets you place bets on specific players and see their statistics and trends for the season.
Managing your bets
The app layout makes it easy to manage your bets. On the bottom of the home screen, there’s a section that says my bets. From there you can see which bets you’ve placed and which ones are currently active as well as current cashout offerings.

Navigating the mobile app
The FanDuel layout makes it simple to find what you’re looking for. On the home screen, they have odds of popular games that are going on that day and a slider bar of sports to choose from.
At the top of the screen, there’s another slider bar that includes sports options as well as where you would find the player props, parlay hub, and live now games. Just below that it shows the current promotions that bettors can take advantage of.
At the bottom of the screen is where you’ll find the My Bets tab and how you can access your account details.
Withdrawals
Getting your winnings is quite simple on FanDuel. All you have to do is navigate to the account tab at the bottom right of the home screen and from there you’ll see a withdrawal funds option.
You can withdraw to your debit card or use online banking. If you deposited using Venmo or PayPal then you will be able to get withdrawals via those applications as well.

What sports does FanDuel offer?
FanDuel offers many bet options for the major leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college football, soccer, and college basketball. They also offer odds for MMA, rugby, tennis, lacrosse, golf, cycling, and more.
My final thoughts on FanDuel
I think FanDuel is a terrific sportsbook option for new bettors. The site and app are easy to navigate and the sportsbook offers a wide variety of bet types for a variety of sports.
FanDuel also offers competitive odds (just like Karen said in her review) and a variety of promotions that make it one of the best sportsbook options on the market right now.
The one area that FanDuel could improve on is women’s sports. While they might list the games with the moneyline, over/under, and spread they rarely have any player props so you won’t find as many betting options as you would for the men’s equivalent.
What's great
Great sign-up bonus
Competitive odds, especially for player props
A wide range of promotions for parlays and straight bets
Plenty of alternate player prop lines for building parlays
Seamless deposits and withdrawals with no issues
What could be better
Many offf the promos and boosts limit you to a small wager amount
It is sometimes difficult to find “under” lines for player props when building an SGP. For example, when building a parlay in hockey I can only bet “over” in assists and points , not “under”
In some sports you sometimes cannot find alternate total lines or over/under lines when building an SGP (the NBA is an example I’ve found).
